She is a former mental health nurse and a practicing sexual assault nurse examiner.
She completed a postdoctoral fellowship and Master of Science in health policy through the University of Pennsylvania’s National Clinician Scholars Program focused on health equity and social change and received both her bachelor's and doctoral degrees in nursing at the University of Michigan.
She has been published over 40 times for her mixed-methods research focused.
