Zeynep Zonp is an Assistant Professor at Wayne State University College of Nursing and a trauma-informed mental health nurse researcher specializing in gender-based violence (GBV) and cross-cultural trauma recovery. Her work centers on understanding structural and cultural barriers to help-seeking and designing community-engaged, trauma-informed interventions for diverse populations, including Muslim and immigrant women. She leads several international and community-based research initiatives, including cross-cultural adaptation studies of trauma-related scales and mixed-methods research on post-violence healing. Dr. Zonp is currently developing and testing culturally tailored interventions such as the Clinical Ethnographic Narrative Interview (CENI) and cognitive methods to promote engagement in mental health services. Her work has been supported by national and international funding bodies and published over 30 times in peer-reviewed journals across nursing, psychology, and global health.
